Copyright 2004-2010 Harald Barsnes and the University of Bergen.

MassSorter has been developed by Harald Barsnes from the University of Bergen during 2004/2007, after an initial idea by Dr. Svein-Ole Mikalsen from the Norwegian Radium Hospital in Oslo.

MassSorter is freely available for non-commercial use.

MassSorter is provided "AS IS," without a warranty of any kind. All express or implied conditions, representations and warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, are hereby excluded.

You may install and use MassSorter on more than one computer, but you may not redistribute MassSorter to other users. Instead have them download the program from MassSorter's home page.

Any further questions can be forwarded to MassSorter@ii.uib.no

The examples used in the tutorial come from experiments done by Svein-Ole Mikalsen.

ProteinViewer is modified from an existing program called FPV that is based on Java 3D (designed by a group at the University of California, Santa Barbara, CA.), see http://www.cs.ucsb.edu/~tcan/fpv/

It is modified by Saywan Pasha, University of Bergen, Norway, to be used at the Bioinformatics Platform (http://bioinfo.no/tools/TAED/) in visualization of color-coded protein molecules, see also http://www.ii.uib.no/~saywan/HF/

The version of ProteinViewer used in MassSorter has been modified by Harald Barsnes to be able to interact with MassSorter and display coverage data.

The database used when doing "modification searches" is UniMod. See http://www.unimod.org

For licences regarding Java see http://www.sun.com/java/

Some of icons used in MassSorter has a separate licence, and the platform independent graphical user interface uses code from JGoodies (JGoodies licence).
